We provide a full complement of NHS general medical services some of which are listed below.  Please contact reception either in person or by telephone, to access any of the services.  

DIABETES CLINIC

Chronic Disease Clinics

We run the following clinics in the surgery:

  • Diabetes clinic
  • Hypertension clinic
  • Heart disease clinic
  • Asthma clinic
  • COPD clinic

Blood Testing

The Practice Nurses or our qualified Phlebotomist can take blood samples from you for testing. This saves you a trip to the local hospital.

Minor Surgery

From our purpose-built, ultra-modern operating suite, we offer minor surgical procedures under local anaesthetic.

This service is available to patients registered with the practice, on the NHS.

Contraception Services

The doctors and Practice Nurses offer advice on all forms of contraception including contraceptive coil and Implanon fittings.

Community Vasectomy Service

The Harbour Medical Practice is an NHS AQP provider of vasectomies for all NHS patients in East Sussex.

Patients have to be referred by their GPs for this service.

Cervical Smear Testing

It is recommended that women aged between 25 and 64 years should have cervical smear test done regularly.

Please only book in a smear if you have received a letter from either the NHS health authorities or your GP Practice - we cannot book in smears for people who are not eligible. If you are unsure please contact the Practice.

 

 

BABY CLINIC

Maternity Services

Our Midwives and Health Visitors provide full antenatal and post-natal care. When you have discovered you are pregnant you will need to make contact with the midwife to plan your care.  Making contact is easy just visit www.esht.nhs.uk/maternity/referral.  Fill in your details and click submit.  Your Community Midwife will be in contact with you to book your first appointment. 

Childhood Development Programme

Childhood developmental checks are carried out mainly by the health Visitors. The doctors routinely perform the six-week baby and mother checks in the surgery.

Vaccinations

The Practice Nurses run an immunisation clinic for babies. Adults who need vaccinations should also contact the Practice Nurses.
